On numerous occasions, he has been a distinguished visiting professor at the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University and Osaka University, Japan, University of Padova (founded 1222), Italy, Complutense University of Madrid (founded 1293), Spain, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, Italy, University of Zurich, Switzerland, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prof. Dr. Chia-Lin Chang

Chia-Lin Chang holds a PhD (Economics) from Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium, and is an elected Distinguished Fellow of the International Engineering and Technology Institute (DFIETI), and an elected Fellow of the Modelling and Simulation Society of Australia and New Zealand (FMSSANZ). Chia-Lin Chang is a University Distinguished Professor, Professor of Economics and Professor of Finance at National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan, a Distinguished Visiting Professor in the Faculty of Economic and Financial Sciences at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Quantitative Economics at Complutense University of Madrid (founded 1293), Spain. Chia-Lin Chang has over 100 journal publications (most of which are in Thompson Reuters) and chapters in books and conference proceedings volumes, is the Executive Editor of the Taiwan Journal of Applied Economics, Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Reviews of Global Economics, Editor-in-Chief of Medical and Health Economics, is a member of the editorial boards of 17 international journals, and has guest co-edited special issues of the Journal of Econometrics (Elsevier), Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (Elsevier), North American Journal of Economics and Finance (Elsevier), Annals of Financial Economics (World Scientific), and Journal of Risk and Financial Management (MDPI). Prof. Dr. Philip Hans Franses

Erasmus University Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Philip Hans Franses is the Desiderius Erasmus Distinguished Professor of Applied Econometrics and Professor of Marketing Research at the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE). Professor Franses has been consistently ranked among the top economists in the Netherlands since 1998 by the high-profile ranking Dutch Economists Top 40. His articles and books have contributed to the internationalisation of econometrics in the Netherlands and to the establishment of the Erasmus School of Economics' Econometric Institute. Professor Franses' research interests span a number of different areas, in particular the development of new models that enable more accurate forecasts with a specific focus on seasonal time series and marketing metrics. His interests also include economic growth and business cycles as well as the Euro. Professor Franses' research aims to address practical questions with answers substantiated by modern econometric models – models often newly developed by him and his team. His articles have appeared in all the leading scientific journals and books as well as in national and international mainstream media. He regularly takes part in the Dutch BNR news radio panel. Companies and institutions throughout the Netherlands and abroad have regularly recruited him as an advisor on a range of issues. Professor Franses was elected in 2011 as member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2012 he received an honorary doctorate from Chiang Mai University in Thailand.

Professor Dr. Shelton Peiris holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Monash University, Australia. He Currently he is at the University of Sydney. His research interest includes Statistical Analysis of Time Series, Saddlepoint and Edgeworth type approximations in Time Series, Estimating Functions and Applications in Time Series and topics in Financial Econometrics. He published papers in Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Time Series Analysis, Journal of Multivariate Analysis, Stochastic Processes and Applications, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Metrika, Computational Statistics, The Australian Journal of Statistics, Biometrical Journal, Expert Systems with Applications, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, Economics Letters, Statistics and Probability Letters, The Australian Journal of Management and Econometrics. His editorial work include: • AMS Math Reviewer Mathematical Reviews,  • Associate Editor/Editorial Board Member of Advances in Decision Sciences, • Associate Editor of Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, • Editorial Advisory Board Member, Sri Lankan Journal of Applied Statistics. In 2011, he organized and chaired the largest International Statistics Conference in Colombo where Professor C.R. Rao was a Keynote speaker. Prof Peiris has been awarded the Faculty of Science Citation for Excellence in Teaching in 2012 on Tuesday, 15 May. This is awarded to academic teaching staff to recognize contributions to high quality teaching and enhancing the student learning environment.

Prof. Ing. Jiří Strouhal, Ph.D. (*1980) is a Full Professor at the University of Economics Prague - Department of Strategy and at Skoda Auto University Mladá Boleslav - Department of Finance and Accounting. He gained his Ph.D. degree in accounting major in 2005 and lifetime full professorship decree in 2016. His major is international accounting and financial performance measurement. He published more than 30 books in respected field and more than 80 papers being covered within SCOPUS or ISI Thomson Reuters databases. Since 2011 he also acts as president of Association of Czech Professional Accountants and advices for Czech Statistical Office as well as for the reputed auditing companies.

Associate Prof. Dr. Joerg Osterrieder

Jörg Osterrieder is senior lecturer for financial mathematics at Zurich University of Applied Sciences where he gives lectures on risk management, financial engineering and mathematics for financial markets. He received his PhD from ETH Zürich in the insurance and financial mathematics group. Jörg Osterrieder currently serves as member of the Management Committee for the European academic network "Mathematics for Industry" and is also involved in the Fintech strategy of the School of Engineering. Having previously worked as an executive director at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, Jörg Osterrieder is now active at the intersection of academia and industry, focusing on the transfer of research results to the financial services sector in order to implement practical solutions. His activities include advisory, consulting and applied research projects for the financial services sector both within Switzerland and abroad. Other companies he worked for include Man Investments, Credit Suisse Group, the Boston Consulting Group and Oliver Wyman. His research has been supported by, among others, the Swiss National Science Foundation, Credit Suisse, the German National Academic Foundation, the European Science Foundation and the US National Science Foundation.

Prof. Dr. Min Peng

Min Peng is Professor in Computer School at Wuhan University, Wuhan, China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Software and Theory from Wuhan University in 2006. She worked as a post-doctor from 2009 to 2010 at the Advanced Cyber-Infrastructure Laboratory, ECE Department at the University of New Mexico, USA. Her current research focus areas include information retrieval, network services and natural language process. In particular, her project and publications areas cover web information retrieval and social networks. Her work is being supported by the NSFC, NSF of Hubei and Education Office of Hubei. Dr. Peng is the recipient of the second Hubei Province Prize for Natural Sciences in 2009. She was TPC chair of High Speed Networking workshop for IEEE INFOCOM 2011, and served as TPC member for many academic symposiums.

 

Prof. Dr. Shengzhi Du

Dr Du is a permanent full Professor of the Tshwane University of Technology and the group leader of Mechatronics in the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment. He obtained a PhD in the major of Control Theory and Control Engineering from Nankai University in 2005. He was granted as NRF C2 rated researcher (Established Researcher). His research interests include Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Control Systems, Mechatronic Systems, Brain Computer Interfaces, and Biomechatronics Engineering. He has extensive industrial and academic management experience. He and his team developed a series of process industry advanced control products and video surveillance systems. He has been engaged in school research committee as chair person and group leader.

He is an associate professor in the College of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing, China.  He  received the B.S.and M.S. degrees from College of Information and Engineering(S’10–M’13), Northwest A&F University, Xianyang, China, and the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2006, 2010, and 2013, respectively. His research interests include the umbrella of image processing, such as image denoising, and image enhancement, as well as highresolution image reconstruction, biological recognition,video coding standards, such as H.264/AVC, and video sequences postprocessing. He received the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Brain Korea 21 Scholarship to study in Hanyang University, Seoul. He received the Annual Technology Innovation Award from the education section of the Chinese Embassy in Korea in 2012.

Prof. Dr. Chih-Ming Kao

National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan

Jimmy (C. M.) Kao serves as a Distinguished Professor with the Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in civil and environmental engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA, in 1989 and 1993, respectively. Prof. Kao has twenty years of experience as a researcher and environmental engineer in water quality modeling, watershed management, soil and groundwater remediation, site characterization, wastewater treatment, disaster investigation, and risk assessment. Prof. Kao is active in many professional organizations. He is a Fellow Member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), a Fellow Member of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Registered Professional Engineer in the branch of Civil Engineering, a Certified Ground Water Professional, and a Professional Hydrologist in the United States. He is also a Diplomate of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Diplomate of American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. He serves as an Executive Committee Member of the Taiwan Association of Soil and Groundwater Environmental Protection, Taiwan Environmental Engineering Association, Taiwan Water Resources Association, Taiwan Water Supply Association, Save River Alliance, and Taiwan Wetland Protection Association, and so forth. Prof. Kao also serves as an Executive Committee Member of many governmental agencies including Environmental Impact Assessment Committee of several local governments, Professor Promotion Evaluation Group of Ministry of Education, Engineering Project Auditing and Assessment Office of Taiwan EPA, and Soil and Groundwater Remediation Fund, and so forth. Prof. Kao received the Distinguished Researcher Award from Taiwan National Science Council in January 2012, which is the most important research award in Taiwan. He is also the receiver of the Distinguished Engineer Professor Award from Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2012.

 

Prof. Dr. Francis Verpoort

Wuhan University of Technology, Wuhan + Ghent University, Belgium

Francis Verpoort (1963, Belgium) received his DPhil from Ghent University in 1996. In 1998, he became a full professor at the same university. In 2004, he founded a spin-off company of Ghent University based on (latent) ruthenium olefin metathesis catalysts. In 2008, he became an editor of Applied Organometallic Chemistry. Currently, next to full professor of Ghent University, he is a chair professor at State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing (Wuhan University of Technology) and Director of Laboratory of Organometallics, Catalysis and Ordered Materials (LOCOM) (Wuhan University of Technology). Recently, he has been appointed as “Expert of the State” in the frame of “Thousand Talents” program, PR China. In 2015 he was selected as High level Expert of the Russian Federation.His main research interests concern the structure and mechanisms of organometallic material chemistry, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts, MOFs and MOPs, water splitting, olefin metathesis and its applications, CO2 conversion, inorganic and organic polymers.

Associate Prof. Dr. Somboon Chaemchuen

Somboon Chaemchuen (1984, Thailand) received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, in 2011 under the supervision of Dr Suphot Phatanasri. In 2010, he went to Aachen University, Germany, for research collaboration with Prof. Wolfgang F. Holderich. He has recently obtained a research position (Associate Professor) in the group of Prof. Francis Verpoort at the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing, Wuhan University of Technology. His current research interests are the preparation of metal–organic framework.

 

Dr. Donghai Wu

Hohai University, Nanjing

Wu Donghai, male, born in 1982. He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2011 with a doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering. In 2012, he started to teach at the School of Environmental of Hohai University. His research interests are water pollution control theory and technology applications. His research is supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, the Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, Chinese Postdoctoral Science Fund and Branch Project of Henan Province Science and Technology Research Fund.

In terms of academic publications, he has published more than 675 journal articles and books in financial econometrics, quantitative finance, risk and financial management, economics, theoretical and applied econometrics, theoretical and applied statistics, time series analysis, energy economics, energy finance, forecasting, informatics, data mining, bibliometrics, and international rankings of journals and academics.

 

Prof. Dr. Marc Paolella

Prof. Dr. Marc Paolella is the Full Professor of Department of Banking and Finance of University of Zurich (from January 2007), as well as the Faulty Member of Swiss Finance Institute (from 2006), and Adjunct Professor of Faculty of Economics of Chiang Mai University (from January 2011). He was the Visiting Professor of Department of Econometrics, University of Geneva (2008-2012), and Director of Institute of Statistics and Econometrics of Kiel University (2003). He is the Associate Editor of Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Series A (from January 2015), Operations Research and Decisions (from 2011) and Economics (since 2008). He is the IETI Fellow and Executive Committee Member of IETI. Prof. Dr. Marc Paolella's research interests include studying the Time Series Analysis, Computational Statistics, GARCH and Risk Prediction.
