The IETI Michael Auer Young Scientists Award is an initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements of young scientists, engineers, and technologists. This award aims to honor individuals who have demonstrated innovative and impactful research contributions to their respective fields, while also making sustained and dedicated contributions to the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI).
For the first three editions, the award was named the IETI Young Researcher Award. Since the 4th edition, it has been renamed after Michael Auer.
All scholars are encouraged to nominate their peers for the IETI Michael Auer Young Scientists Award. The Award Committee meticulously selects awardees based on their achievements in science, engineering, and technology, as well as their ongoing commitment to the institute..


About Michael Aue:

Michael E Auer is the President of the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI), the Secretary-General of the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP), the founder of CTI in Germany, the former President of the International Federation of Engineering Education Societies (IFEES), and the founding President of the International Association for Online Engineering (IAOE).
He was born in Germany in 1948. He obtained a degree in engineering in 1971 and a doctoral degree from the Dresden University of Technology in 1975. He is an internationally renowned computer scientist and engineering educator. He served as the Vice-Rector and a professor at the University of Applied Sciences Carinthia in Austria. He also serves as a visiting professor at the University of Amman in Jordan, the Transilvania University of Brașov in Romania, and the University of Patras in Greece.


How to be the award recipients?
. Eligibility: The award is open to PhD holders under the age of 45 who have conducted innovative and impactful research with a positive global influence.
. Experience and Publications: Candidates should have research experience at renowned universities or research institutions, have published significant papers in their field, and have actively participated in or led pertinent research projects.
. Documentation: A complete resume and a concise biography (not exceeding 400 words) are required, showcasing the candidate's career achievements and contributions to their field.
. Research Output: Submission of five or more representative research papers is essential. These papers should highlight the candidate's research excellence and contributions to their area of expertise.
. Nomination: Each candidate must be nominated by two senior researchers, ensuring that nominees are recognized by their peers for their achievements and potential.
. Selection: Annually, several recipients are selected for this award. In instances where the exact standards are not fully met by any nominee, the candidate that most closely matches the criteria may be chosen.
We strongly emphasize that we give top priority to scholars who have contributed to our academic conferences (both online and onsite), activities, and journals. Those who have contributed to the development of our team are also highly valued.

2025 Announcement
Nominations are invited for the 2025 year. The deadline for nominations is on May 31 2025. Please send the nomination package by email to info#ieti.net. The awardee will be announced before July 31 2025.
The recipient will receive a medal sponsored by Professor Michael E. Auer. Depending on the actual situation, we will either present it in person or send it by mail. The recipient's certificate will be sent via email.
