Thisis a call for collaboration into the research project: Labormarket approaching: Generation Y vs. Generation Z. A cross-cultural study
RESEARCH PURPOSE AND DESIGN
Nowadays many companies around the world arefacing the new generation of employees, identified as Z, with differentexpectations and aspirations that in some points are very different than thoseof the generation before, that is called Y. Taking into consideration the factthat attracting and retaining the talents within the company is becoming a highpriority, representing the core component in developing and delivering the highvalue for the customers, a better employee generation profile understanding isof utmost importance in developing the most appropriate HR strategies. Thus,the purpose of this study is to create a profile pattern regarding the labormarket entry and behavior for the two generations: Y vs. Z in differentcultures background. In this respect a survey will be conducted in manyuniversities and the measurements will be conducted in different directions: career expectations; selecting an employer,company and industry sector; career priorities; personal life towardsprofessional life, what my generation is doing, preferences for workenvironment etc. The study is addressing to the HR practitioners but alsoto the scholars, proposing a new approaching way for employees and a betterinsight for understanding the young generation in order to increase companyperformance. Theresults of the study will be submitted to a high ranked journal.

Themain research questions we have established are the following:
Whatare the general characteristics of the two generations – (usage of social-mediaand social-network; concerns and priorities etc.).
Whatare the differences among cultures regarding the profile of the Z Gen. and whatare the most important factors that generate theses differences?
Whatare the commune features of the Z Gen. across different cultures?
Whatare the factors that model an employer’s choice?
Whatare the preferences for work environment?
Whatare the predictors of work satisfaction / motivation?
RESEARCHMETHODOLOGY
In order to findreliable answers to our research question we will conduct a transnationalsurvey and we will collect data from our universities from a student’s sample. Weintend to collect data from a variety of students (bachelor, master anddoctoral studies), from many different specialties.
ABOUTTHE RESEARCH TEAM
In this moment, theresearch team have members from six countries (Albania, Denmark, Poland,Portugal, Romania, and Turkey).
